Pakistan Earthquake 2008 Balochistan

SAVING LIVES - RACE AGAINST ONSET OF WINTER

At least 300 people have been killed after an earthquake of 6.4 magnitude hit the Balochistan province in South Western Pakistan on 29th October.

Human Aid Focus has assessed the damage in order to deliver emergency relief. We have a team ready to move as soon as funds are available our team comprising District Bagh NGO Maqsood Welfare Foundation and Human Aid Focus are trained and experienced in international emergency relief work as it is only 3years since the huge earthquake in Azad Kashmir.

Relief camps have been set up in Bagh and Islamabad to collect items and raise the much-needed funds.

The worst hit area appears to be Ziarat, about 50km north of Quetta, homes have been destroyed in five villages- War Choom, Kawas, Wam, Kan Depot and Serkhazee.
It is estimated that more than 35,000 families have been affected. Many have spent the nights in the open. People are in urgent need of tents, warm clothing, blankets, fuel for fires, medicines and canned and dry food.

We are launching an emergency appeal to raise funds to bring hope for the families who have been badly affected. Please help us to help them.
