Introduction:
Human Aid Focus
(HAF) UK is a service based non-Profit and non-government
independent, development Organization working in health, education,
micro-credit & enterprise development, natural resource management,
women empowerment, emergency relief and empowerment of the disabled.
HAF was established and registered in the United Kingdom in 2004 as
a Registered Charity (No. 110875) to help needy, marginalized and
deserving people at grass roots level in Azad Kashmir.
Prior to registration in The UK, the philanthropist behind HAF, M.
Maqsood Sheikh, was delivering relief services to local communities
in the sectors of education, health and reconstruction under the
banner of Maqsood Welfare Foundation (now a sister organization of
HAF) in District Bagh Azad Kasmir, Pakistan. Maqsood Welfare
Foundation is registered as a NGO in Azad Kashmir. HAF is registered
in Pakistan under the Companies Ordinance 1984 by Security Exchange
Commission of Pakistan
HAF is supported by various donors UNICEF, Oxfam, World Jewish Aid,
Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA), Food
and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and
other community based organizations and many individual donors.
Our work with the local communities contributes significantly
towards the attainment of the United Nation's Millennium Development
Goals (MDGs), particularly in the eradication of poverty and the
promotion of gender equality and education.
As large International NGOs have left the earthquake devastated
district Bagh after completing their projects, the work towards alleviating poverty through advocating
for sustainable livelihood and poverty reduction remains our focus.
VISION
To promote a tolerant, peaceful, gender friendly society based on
the principles of social justice, freedom, empowerment and equality
for all. Exploitation of God-gifted skills for men and women through
social and economic opportunities.
MISSION STATEMENT
To enable and assist the disadvantaged, marginalized,
under-privileged, and neglected populations to achieve stability and
economical development in life.
